A fire service recruitment day has been held in Henley with one attendee in particular catching the boss's eye.
According to the Henley Standard, the event attracted a healthy number of prospective fire-fighters with a certain Adam Brown mainly being the centre of attention.
Unfortunately for Adam, a job offer wasn't forthcoming due to the fact that he is still just ten years of age. Adam attended the event with his cousin, six, and was shown around a fire engine before being advised he may have to wait a few years before he's tackling blazes for real.
The event saw a display at Henley fire station as well as a period of door-knocking to follow with interested candidates then being sent application packs for roles with the service.
Adam told the newspaper: "I want to be a firefighter when I grow up because it would make me feel special saving people’s lives."
It just goes to show, ageism is still rife in today's working environments.
