Make sure you're clued up on the big issues in business at the moment if you're applying for jobs – one of which is online and mobile commerce.
Particularly if you're on the hunt for jobs in retail, you'll need to show prospective employers that you can understand how the high street is evolving.
Research from uSwitch showed yesterday that less than half of Brits are proud of their town centre, while almost one-quarter have turned their backs on the high street – so times are really changing for traditional retail businesses.
As a result, e-retail is a major buzzword at the moment, so you'll have to show an awareness of this if you want to be a competitor for jobs.
"Definitely. E-retail is very much driving the retail industry at the moment," said Ben Sillitoe, editor of Retail Gazette.
"Online and mobile commerce is a key consideration for all companies right now, because that is where the consumer is and these are the platforms where the consumer wants to shop."
Brushing up on your e-retail knowledge and adding this to your CV could get you an interview, where you can show employers just how you feel you could add to the changing future of retail.
