Jobs in Lichfield | Pictures of Lichfield
The city of Lichfield is famous for two things; its three-spired cathedral, known throughout the Midlands as the 'Ladies of the Vale', and the birthplace of Dr Johnson, writer of the first authoritative Dictionary of the English Language. Along with other notaries such as Darwin, Garrick and Seward, Samuel Johnson was the focal point for Lichfield 's intellectual scene that gave the city its own identity, together with a strong sense of pride in its local community that even industrialization dared not interfere with.
Although only a few miles of green belt separate the city from nearby Walsall and the heart of the Black Country, Lichfield has a strong cultural, cosmopolitan and expectant personality – it is quite simply a nice place to live.
