The Sales Director is a highly important part of the corporate management team as he/she will be directly responsible for the sales which go towards making profit.
As a Regional Sales Manager you'll be looking at teams of people rather than just individuals, as well as building sales and staying ahead of the competition.
The Sales Manager is someone who has started out in some form of sales role, such as a sales executive, and been promoted to a primary management level.
Good sales people tend to be instinctive and outgoing and can make huge rewards when linked to commission based or part-commission based pay.
Sales people can be found working across virtually every industry sector imaginable, persuading customers to buy their company’s products and looking after the needs of existing customers.
The Sales world is full of people undertaking everything from cold calling right the way through to strategic decision making and multi-million pound deals.
It is said that sales people are born, not made. But nothing could be further from the truth. Individuals from all backgrounds and all education levels enter the sales industry.
Although the sales industry is attracts people from all educational backgrounds, most recruiters look for a standard level of academic achievement.
With academic achievement increasingly taking the back seat in the priority stakes within the sales industry, employers are more concerned with the skills and personal qualities that you can offer.
